Great Falls, VA - Today, Great Falls resident Jennifer Chronis announced her campaign for Fairfax County Board of Supervisors-Dranesville District with the following statement:
“I am announcing my candidacy for Supervisor because I believe we need strong, proactive leadership and innovative solutions to ensure that Fairfax County remains the best place in the country to live, work and raise a family. I look forward to applying my extensive leadership and problem-solving experience, developed during my successful career in both the private and public sector, to address the critical issues facing the County.
“Fairfax County is at a crossroads. The decline in federal spending is impacting our local economy after decades of prosperity, limiting the revenue that we need to invest in our schools, transportation and other needs that are critical to our quality of life. The Board of Supervisors must work closely with the business community to help foster a vibrant, balanced, technology-driven economy that provides the employment opportunities and public revenues we need to remain the number one county in the country.
“This transformation requires leadership, innovation and a willingness to make hard decisions for the long-term health of our community – qualities that have been lacking on the Board. I look forward to taking my message to the residents of the Dranesville District who, I believe, are ready for new leadership and a new approach.”
